I was at Dead.net last night and I downloaded a couple of songs from the Taper's Section. They download as Quicktime Movies. I wasn't able to convert them to any sort of mp3 file. I was wondering, since the file is a movie, is it possible to burn it as a DVD? I don't have a movie burner and I was wondering if anybody else had tried this? If someone does have a DVD burner, would they try it?

I also found several programs that can convert QT movie files to mp3 files, but they all seemed to cost money. Has anyone else done this? Just wondering before I spent some cash.

There has to be a way to convert the files and burn them.
I figured out how to download soundboards from this site and I still don't do it. Mostly from reading the LMA rules and they ask you not to, but when I did try it the streamed files are only like 196kbps and the sound quality isn't that good. That and I really don't want to piss them off, I really like being able to download lossless audience shows.

I'm pretty sure those are only streaming files. In other words, even though there's a link on your computer, you wouldnt be able to listen if you werent connected to the internet. I may be wrong, but I dont think you can download those at all.

I'll have to try and listen to them without being connected to the internet. You are probably right about not being able to download and burn those files. I got a burr last night about it and I was just looking for a different way to skin a cat. Thanks for the help.

Did you check this site:
http://www.boilsoft.com/download.html

I just found it have not tried it, looks like might be multi step process. I had the same question awhile ago but have not had time to try anything yet. I thought Dead.net stopped the downloadable - did something change?

Yes, they did stop the downloading of mp3 files. But you can still download the songs from the taper's section, they download as quicktime movies and you can save them and listen to them if you have a quicktime player. You just can't burn them to a disc until you have converted them to mp3.
I'll check out the link you provided when I have some time at home. Thanks.

Hey spammer! Why not take your MelodyCan and stick it where the sun don't shine and see how satisfying that is.
